Booming stereotypes

Tonight for me it’s a flavour of what small-town-boom-town Canada is like.

A flight with an oil pipeline repair guy in big boots and a Canucks hat.

A slidey ride in from the airport from a driver who whoops and hollers when he hears the weather may get above zero tomorrow.

A room in a hotel fully booked like Jesus is on his way.

Dinner in a restaurant where the car park is full of pickups and it takes all night to get a table for one but it doesn’t matter because its wing night and there’s hard rock on the stereo.

What happened to the Canadian stereotypes?! Oh that’s right. I’m in a beautiful valley (when you can see it), the biggest risk on the road is the wildlife and everyone is super friendly. I suppose some stereotypes are reality too.

And yes there is hockey on the tv!
